The authors give some sufficient conditions for determining the simplicity of infinite dimensional Novikov algebras of characteristic \(0\), which are in essence the converse of a result due to \textit{J. M. Osborn} [J. Algebra 167, No. 1, 146--167 (1994; Zbl 0814.17002)].
