Drawing upon and improving earlier results of the second author [Differ. Equations 26, 1522--1528 (1990; Zbl 0731.47001); Russ. Math. Surv. 46, 217--218 (1991; Zbl 0758.47004)], the authors in the paper under review prove a result which can be used to calculate the regularized traces of non-selfadjoint discrete operators whose resolvent is a nonnuclear operator.
