An effective control technique is presented in order to stabilize the Lorenz chaos. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory, a sliding mode controller is designed for the regulation of the state vector to a desired point in the state space. Compared with other existing Lorenz chaos control laws, this controller is able to overcome the disadvantage of nonlinearity of the control input.
