The authors propose a new method for improving the security of masking messages in chaos. By modulating the transmitted signal with an appropriately chosen scalar signal, one can remove the flaws which allow the underlying message to be revealed without the knowledge of the parameters of the system or even of the nonlinear system itself in some cases. Note, that the method presented by the authors is general and not limited to dynamical systems discussed in this paper.
