The autor presents a method for constructing hyperbolic knots bounding an accidental incompressible Seifert surface of arbitrarily high genus. Here by accidental Seifert surface \(S\in M^3\) a Seifert surface is meant with an accidental peripheral, the latter being an essential loop that can be freely homotoped into \(\partial M^3\).
