The author discusses the Fourier series and Fourier transform of an operator on a homogeneous Banach space of distributions on a locally compact abelian group. His results generalize the results of deLeeuw on the F. and M. Riesz theorems for operators on homogeneous Banach spaces of functions on the circle group.
