Verf. behandelt die Durchbiegung einer dünnen rechteckigen Platte unter dem Einfluß einer senkrechten Belastung und zeigt, wie die von \textit{Ritz} (J. f. M. 135 (1908), 1-61; F. d. M. 39, 449 (JFM 39.0449.*)-450) gegebene Methode zu derselben Lösung führt wie eine von ihm selbst (Proceedings Royal Soc. London (A) 117, 692-718; F. d. M. 54) angegebene.
