Der Verf. konstruiert eine Algebra vierter Ordnung, ausgehend von einer ternären quadratischen Form, in der jedes Element einer quadratischen Gleichung genügt. Die Resultate werden hierauf für den Fall verallgemeinert, daß eine quadratische Form von \(n + 1\) Variablen zugrunde gelegt wird, und mit Berufung auf eine frühere Arbeit des Verf. (Bulletin A. M. S. 31 (1925), 430-444; F. d. M. 51) wird eine Anwendung auf eine diophantische Gleichung vorgenommen.
