Die erste Auflage des vorliegenden Buches ist 1904 (F. d. M. 35, 682 (JFM 35.0682.*)-683), die zweite, die sich von der ersten nur unwesentlich unterscheidet, 1917 erschienen. In der vorliegenden dritten Auflage sind die Kapitel I-XIV unverändert zum Abdruck gelangt. Dagegen sind die beiden Schlußkapitel XV (Die allgemeine Theorie der Bahnkurven) und XVI (Integration durch trigonometrische Reihen) mit Rücksicht auf die in den letzten Jahren erzielten Fortschritte neu redigiert worden.
