Verf. gibt zunächst im hyperbolischen Raum-Zeitdiagramm eine Darstellung des ``klassischen'' Brechungsgesetzes des Lichtes an einer ebenen Platte. Dem hyperbolischen raumzeitlichen Kontinuum entsprechend wird in allen Winkelrelationen durchgehend von den Hyperbelfunktionen Gebrauch gemacht. Wird im weiteren Gang der Untersuchung nunmehr das Brechungsgesetz vom Standpunkt des (unbeschleunigt) bewegten Beobachters studiert, so bleibt auf diese Weise der reelle Charakter der Formeln und graphischen Hilfsmittel erhalten. Am Schluß der Abhandlung werden die physikalisch möglichen Fälle abgegrenzt, und es wird die Einwirkung der physikalischen Eigenschaften der brechenden Medien (Dichte) besprochen.
