Verf. gelingt es, aus modernem Material (Verfinsterungen, heliometrische Beobachtungen, Mikrometerbeobachtungen) sowie mit Hilfe der zwölf Reihen von photographischen Platten, die in den Jahren 1913-1924 am Kap und in Berlin aufgenommen worden sind, seine schon 1908 aufgestellte Theorie über die aus den Längen der Jupitersatelliten abgeleitete Unregelmäßigkeit der Erdrotation zu bestätigen.
