Anschließend an die Arbeit von Verf. (Biometrika 1 (1902), 390-399, insbesondere 399) untersucht \textit{J. 0. Irwin} in der im Titel genannten, F. d. M. 51, 391 (JFM 51.0391.*) besprochenen den Korrelationskoeffizienten für (Brüder-)Paare des Kollektivs (Bevölkerung), während Pearson dort den für Brüderpaare einer Familie untersucht. Verf. stellt in dieser Arbeit den Zusammenhang zwischen beiden Koeffizienten her unter Annahme gewisser Erblichkeitsgesetze und gibt eine Reihe statistischer Ergebnisse dazu an.
