Die Galoissche Gruppe eines Körpers läßt sich auffassen als Automorphismengruppe eines gewissen Restklassenkörpers bzw. Restklassenrings. Damit ist auch für den Fall von Gleichungssystemen in mehreren Variablen eine allgemeine Definition gewonnen, wobei neben den Automorphismen noch Isomorphismen auf Unterkörper bzw. Unterringe zugelassen werden. Es wird eine Anwendung auf die Frage der Zerlegung in direkte Faktoren gegeben.
