    Die Umrechnung von kartesischen auf Polarkoordinaten und umgekehrt wird mechanisch ausgeführt, indem eine Skala für \(x\) fest, eine Skala für \(y\) senkrecht dazu beweglich, eine Skala für \(r\) um den Pol drehbar und endlich eine Winkelskala zur Messung dieser Drehung eingerichtet wird.
