(Siehe JFM 41.0098.02) \textit{Brunhes} verteidigt sich in seinem Aufsatze gegen die Kritik, die \textit{Le Dantec} an dem Werke ``La dégradation de l'énergie'' geübt hatte, in welchem \textit{Brunhes} das \textit{Carnot}sche Prinzip allgemein verständlich darzustellen versucht hat. \textit{Le Dantec} gibt zu, daß das \textit{Carnot}sche Prinzip zwei verschiedene Auffassungen zuläßt und daher seine Kritik nicht zutreffe.
