Geschichtliches nebst einem Beweise, der auf der folgenden Bemerkung beruht. Wenn \(y\) die binomiale Entwickelung bezeichnet \(1+mx+\frac12m(m-1)x^2+\cdots\), und wenn \(z=(1+x)^m\), so ist \(y'(1+x)=my\), \(z'(1+x)=mz\); folglich \(yz'-y'z=0\), \(D(z:y)=0\), \(z=Cy\), \(C=1\).
