Der Verf. giebt einen elementaren Beweis des von Weierstrass aus einer Integralformel abgeleiteten Satzes (vgl. F. d. M. 17, 384, 1885, JFM 17.0384.02): ``Wenn eine in einem Intervalle \((a, b)\) endliche und stetige Function gegeben ist, so kam, man ein Polynom finden, welches sich von ihr im ganzen Intervalle um weniger als eine beliebig vorgegebene positive Grösse unterscheidet'', und erweitert diesen Satz auf Functionen mehrerer Veränderlichen.
