Hr. C. Neumann hat durch seine Methode des arithmetischen Mittels das Dirichlet'sche Problem für Curven und Flächen gelöst, unter der Annahme, dass diese convex nach aussen und nicht ``zweisternig'' sind. Der Verfasser zeigt, dass die Methode auch noch zum Ziele führt, wenn die letztere Bedingung fallen gelassen wird. Ueberdies giebt er eine Vereinfachung für den Nachweis, dass die nach der in Rede stehenden Methode construirte Function das Problem löst.
