Die Arbeiten beziehen sich auf die Summen \(\sum_{\mu}E \left( \sqrt{\mu p}\right)\), wo \(p\) eine Primzahl, \(\mu\) eine ganze Zahl, \(E(x)\) die grösste in \(x\) enthaltene ganze Zahl ist. So beweist z. B. der Verfasser die Formel: \[ \sum_{\mu =1}^{\mu =\frac{p-5}{4}}E\left( \sqrt{\mu p}\right)\;=\;\frac{(p-1)(p-5)}{12}, \] wo \(p\) eine Primzahl von der Form \(4n+1\) ist.
