Durch das angegebene Verfahren erhält man z. B. für \(\sqrt x\) zwischen \(x=\frac 1a\) und \(x=a\) den Bruch \(\frac{kx+1}{x+k}\), wo die Constante \(k\) durch die Gleichung \[ k^4-6k^2-4\left(a+\frac 1a\right)k-3=0 \] gegeben ist.
