Der Verfasser betrachtet die Kraft, welche auf die Anfangsrichtung der Bewegung von Körpern ablenkend wirkt, derart dass sie ein Maximum in dem Falle ist, dass sich eine Lokomotive auf einem geradlinigen Geleise von Westen nach Osten bewegt. Dieser falsche Schluss ist später vom Verfasser in einem Supplement im letzten Bande des Analyst verbessert worden.
