The paper deals with the construction and investigation of Riemann solvers for hyperbolic systems in one space dimension. Thereby, a general regularity theorem on the admissible curves is proven and a method for the construction of admissible curves is presented. Furthermore, a stability statement for the solution of the Riemann problem is shown.
