The authors consider three levels explicit schemes for solving nonlinear variable coefficient Schrödinger type equations. The stability and convergence of these schemes are obtained. The existence of discrete conservation laws is investigated. These results are suitable for DuFort-Frankel and leap-frog difference schemes.
