Using the direct Lyapunov method, the author obtains a necessary and sufficient condition for linear stability of a particular class of symmetric helical steady-state flows of ideal incompressible perfect conducting fluid in magnetic field with respect to small perturbations with the same symmetry. The author gives an example of a steady state flow and initial perturbations whose linear time evolution can be described by means of the estimates obtained.
