The main result of the paper is that for a prime ring \(R\) with \(\text{char\,}R\neq 2\), nonzero derivation \(D\) of \(R\), and noncentral Lie ideal \(L\) of \(R\), the left annihilator of \(\{[d(u),u]\mid u\in L\}\) is zero. The proof of the first part of the crucial Lemma 3 is incomplete, and incorrect as given.
