The author derives analytical expressions for tidal torques on a non-rigid planet, which perturb the rotation of the planet. These expressions are used to obtain secular and periodic perturbations of Euler's angles for the Earth's rotation. The secular effects caused by the tidal dissipation, which do not exist in the rigid planet model, can be very important for explaining the evolution of Earth-Moon system, the deceleration of Earth's rotation and the decrease in the angle of nutation. The author verifies theoretical considerations by numerical results which are in good agreement with observations.
