The Dirichlet problem for a general nonlinear elliptic equation of the second order with singularity at the boundary is studied. Under the uniform ellipticity assumption and natural structural conditions \(C^{1,\alpha }\) and \(C^{2,\alpha }\) estimates for a viscosity solution are established. The problem may be associated with the study of mean curvature surfaces.
