The author studies difference schemes that approximate the third boundary value problem of static elasticity theory (stiff contact problem) in a rectangle, and obtains estimates for the convergence rate which depend on the smoothness of the solution. For solutions belonging to Sobolev spaces, a complete scale of a priori estimates of convergence rate is obtained.
