In the paper an algorithm is proposed for front-capturing gas-dynamic computations performed by explicit homogeneous Godunov-type methods with wide-range real equations of state taken into account, including those prescribed in non-analytical form. The algorithm is based on a special representation of the Courant-Isaacson-Rees formulas for fluxes across the boundaries of computational cells. Examples of computed shock-wave generation and shock-induced phenomena in metals are given to demonstrate the wide scope of the proposed representation of fluxes.
