The authors study Howell designs \(H(s,2n)\) that contain an \(m\times m\) subarray which contains a Room square of order \(m\) and possibly other pairs in the empty cells of the Room square. This provides a generalization of the situation when \(H(s,2n)\) contains a Room square as a subarray.
