The author investigates linear two-dimensional free oscillations of viscous exponentially stratified fluid in a closed volume. Under the assumption of small viscosity, an asymptotic solution is constructed by using the boundary-layer method of singular perturbation theory. The zeroth- and first-order approximations are obtained in explicit form.
