In this paper a three-dimensional hydrodynamic model of the formation of sedimentary basins is considered. This model is described by the quasi-steady equations of motion of a viscous inhomogeneous incompressible fluid and by evolutionary equations of transfer for density and viscosity. The numerical method of solving the problem is based on introducing the vector potential for the velocity of motion of the medium and on applying the Galerkin method with a special tricubic-spline basis.
