A variational method for solving magnetostatic problems (Q1571218)

The subject of this paper is a nonlinear magnetostatic problem in the integral formulation. The physical system under study is a ferromagnetic material in the field of a solenoid with a current. An error estimate is obtained for the approximate solution that does not require the knowledge of the exact solution. A special type of discretization of the problem simplifies the form of this estimate. The minimization of this estimate leads to the solution method that possesses the stopping criterion.
