The author proposes a version of the generalized alternating triangular method for solving elliptic finite-difference equations in a parallel distributed-memory computer system. The case of a rectangular computational domain and a nonuniform mesh is examined. The convergence rate of the iteration process is analyzed. The efficiency of the proposed method is estimated by computing a model problem.
