Numerical integration of equations defining the nuclear-reactor dynamics (Q1571321)

The authors describe a method for the approximate solution of the equations describing the dynamics of a nuclear power reactor. A mathematical formulation of the problem is given, and the characteristic features of the stiff system of partial differential equation with control are discussed. The spectrum of the problem is analyzed, and the difficulties encountered in the approximate solution of the problem are indicated. An implicit difference scheme for solving the equations at the upper level by a multigrid iterative method is described.
