The authors carry out a fairly thorough analysis concerning the Schwarz additive method applied to the \(p\) version Galerkin approximation of hypersingular and weakly singular integral equations of the first kind. The analysis is quite technical but the estimations of condition numbers are sharp and are illustrated by some numerical experiments.
