A bounded function of degree of disagreement (FDOD) has been introduced by the author in 1994 for a group of distributions [Math. Soc. Sci. 28, No. 2, 85-111 (1994; Zbl 0877.90003)]. In this interesting paper, a characterization theorem is established for FDOD. Several properties and applications, including in the study of multiple DNA sequence comparison, are indicated.
