Let \(X\) be a space of constant curvature and let \(F_1\) and \(F_2\) be surfaces in \(X\). Let \(G=\text{Isom}(X)\) be a group of isometries of the space \(X\). The set \(C=\{g\in G\mid g(F_1)\) touches \(F_2\}\) is called the configuration space of surface-surface contact. The author investigates when the set \(C\) is an immersed submanifold and when it is an embedded submanifold.
