The author studies properties of solutions to the differential equation for a model of crystal growth. He derives a third-order autonomous ordinary differential equation that describes a travelling wave solution. He considers its equilibria, periodic solutions and discusses their stability. Numerical computation is used to find almost-periodic orbits and to show that there exist period doubling and homoclinic bifurcations.
