The author considers nonlinear interaction between long and short waves propagating in a weakly nonlinear micropolar elastic medium. Using asymptotic expansion method, three coupled nonlinear evolution equations are derived and reduced to long wave-short wave interaction equations. Some special solutions of the interaction equations are discussed.
