The author deals with the cocyclic subshifts which can be considered as a generalization of sofic systems introduced by B. Weiss. The main goal of the author is to prove that the topologically transitive cocyclic subshifts are intrinsically ergodic, that is have a unique invariant probability measure of maximal entropy.
