Nonlinear vibration of circular sandwich plate under the uniform load (Q1574833)

The authors derive differential equations which govern axisymmetric large-amplitude free vibrations of circular sandwich plates under static load. Then they formulate a set of nonlinear coupled algebraic and differential eigenvalue equations following the assumed time mode approach. Analytic solutions are presented, and a relation for amplitude, frequency and load for the plates with clamped edge is derived by a modified iteration method. Using these results, the authors investigate the effect of static load on the vibration of plates. The presented method can be applied to annular plates and shells.
