In this paper we present a stability analysis of two adaptive algorithms proposed in [\textit{H.-L. Nguyen-Thi} and \textit{C. Jutten}, ibid. 45, 209--229 (1995; Zbl 0875.94034)] for blind source separation of convolutive mixtures. We demonstrate that for temporally white sources and causal mixing filters the first algorithm is not stable whereas the second is always stable provided that the step-size parameters are adequately chosen. Moreover, we show that the second algorithm exhibits isotropic convergence.
