This paper is devoted to the modified derivative nonlinear Schrödinger (DNLS) equation with fifth-order nonlinearity. To this and the authors use the Hirota bilinear transform motion. By including a self-phase modulation term, a modified DNLS system exhibits dark \(2\)-solitons. Moreover, the authors construct an envelope equation with third-order dispersion that permits interactions of solitons. Applications to hydrodynamics and fiber optics are discussed.
