The paper clarifies and corrects omissions that have occurred in previous attempts to classify up to pseudoisotopy (equivalently homotopy) the self-homeomorphisms of a closed oriented, connected, topological 4-manifold \(M\) having \(\pi_1 M=\mathbb{Z}\). The main theorem states the final classification result.
