Modelling of three-layered piezoelectric plates (Q1578997)

The author presents a modelling of piezoelectric layered plates, starting from a comparison of three-layered plate models with the theory of piezoelectric thin plates. An identification criterion between simple and three-layered structures is formulated. The theory expressed in this paper refers to works of \textit{G. A. Maugin} and \textit{D. Attou} [Q. J. Mech. Appl. Math. 43, No. 3, 347-362 (1990; Zbl 0704.73087)] on electroelasticity, and to works of \textit{P. Destuynder} on three-layered elastic plates [see, e.g., C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Sér. II 302, 257-262 (1986; Zbl 0579.73070)].
