The author constructs finitely presented subgroups of \(\text{GL}(n,\mathbb{Z})\) that have infinitely many conjugacy classes of finite subgroups. This answers a question of \textit{F. Grunewald} and \textit{V. Platonov} [C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Sér. I, Math. 325, No. 11, 1153-1158 (1997; Zbl 0913.20034)].
