The authors study the solvability problem for the system \[ x^\prime=\alpha x^\prime (t-h)+ax-q(t,x,y,x(t-h),y(t-h)), \] \[ y^\prime=\beta y^\prime (t-h)-ky -r(t,x,y,x(t-h),y(t-h)), \] by reducing this system to an integral equation of retarded type.
