Two theorems on the existence and multiplicity of periodic solutions of a semilinear nonautonomous beam equation with homogeneous boundary and initial conditions are proven. The applied methods are of variational type. The formulation uses the concept of Orlicz space and a weak version of the Palais-Smale compactness condition.
