The main goal of this paper is to present a bifurcation leading to strange attractors with singularities across the boundary of Axiom A (hyperbolic) vector fields. More precisely, the authors study a bifurcation of hyperbolic vector fields in dimension three leading to robust strange attrators with singularities. They show that the attractors arising from this kind of bifurcation are not equivalent (Theorem 1) to the geometric Lorenz attractors.
